Two women have died after a horror car crash in a village which left a man in his 70s seriously injured.
Emergency services were called to Bracebridge Heath, Lincolnshire, at 6.47pm yesterday following reports that two silver Honda Jazz vehicles had collided on the A607.
A 49-year-old woman who was driving towards Lincoln died at the scene. There were no other people in the vehicle with her.
A 71-year-old woman, who was a passenger in the other car travelling towards Waddington, died in hospital.
The driver of that vehicle, also in his 70s, remains in a serious condition in hospital, Lincolnshire Live reports.
Police said the next of kin for both have been contacted and are being supported by specially-trained officers.
The road was closed until the early hours of this morning while initial investigations were carried out.
Police are now appealing for information on the crash and have asked anyone with useful dashcam or CCTV footage to get in touch.
A spokesperson for Lincolnshire Police said: "We are now appealing for witnesses who may have seen either vehicle prior to the collision, or witnessed the collision itself. We are particularly keen to view dashcam or CCTV footage which captured the collision.
"If you were in the area and may have recorded something, please check your footage and contact us as soon as possible via adam.doona@lincs.police.uk."
