Two Coatbridge roads to be affected by closures for five days

Islay Way in Coatbridge will close for five days from Monday, February 21, between Highcross Avenue and Woodside Gardens.

This is to allow for CCTV cable repairs and alternative routes for motorists will be Old Monkland Road, Woodside Street and Highcross Avenue.

And sewer repair works will result in another Coatbridge road closing for 11 hours a day for five consecutive days later this month.

The A725 Whifflet Street/Coatbank Street (southbound carriageway only) will be shut between Caldeen Road and the B753 Calder Street from 7pm to 6am between February 25 and March 1; the latter two roads will be available as diversions.

Finally, Inverary Drive in Gartcosh will close from 9.30am to 6pm on February 28, from properties three to nine.

This is to allow for the “repair of a Scottish Water carriageway cover” and motorists will be able to use Duart Way, Drumlanrig Crescent and Scalloway Road as diversions.
