Two charged with murder after man stabbed to death at Enfield block of flats

A man and a woman have been charged with murder after a 66-year-old was found stabbed to death at a block of flats in Enfield.

The victim, named by police as George Eric Rogers, was found suffering stab wounds in the communal area of flats in Lockhart Close, around 7.20pm on Friday.

Emergency responders fought to save him, but he died at the scene.

Ellie Ackhurst, 30, and Anthony Elliott, 42, were charged with his murder in the early hours of Tuesday, Scotland Yard has said.

The suspects, both of no fixed address, were due to appear at Highbury Magistrates' Court later on Tuesday.

Formal identification of the victim is yet to take place, but police have confirmed him to be Mr Rogers, from Enfield.

Mr Rogers’ next of kin has been informed of his death, said police.

Any witnesses or anyone with information about his death are urged to contact Metropolitan Police.
