TV star Lucy Kennedy has said she would love to turn her children’s books into a kid’s TV show.
The Living With Lucy host has written three books so far of The Friendship Fairies, which chart the fortunes of three unorthodox little people with a 21st century attitude and avoid the sort of prim and proper lifestyle that traditionally dictate fairy life.
The 45-year-old Dubliner is writing her fourth and fifth book this year – but would love to see her magical fairies on the big screen someday.
The Classic Hits presenter told us: “I would love that. I'd voice it. I would love it. Or a movie.
"There is a real market for fairies. There is a certain age group that are into fairies, unicorns and it is a huge market that I just tapped into at the right time.
"Even the book sales, like I'm obviously up against the JK Rowling’s and the David Walliams and I am obviously not competing, but my book sells really, really well.”
She said her children – Jess, Jack and Holly – “inspire” her to write her stories.
"Yes (the kids inspire me). I feel like Jess will do a one-night show in Vicar Street," she said jokingly.
"Jess is at that age where she can't argue with me so I always read my books to her whereas Jack says 'No, no, no I'm not reading that again'. He reads my books to be polite. He's only 12.
"Holly in fairness reads my books, then she'll say, ‘I've read it, move on.’”
She previously admitted her children have no interest in her career - even when she started writing her children’s book series.
"The only show they ever watched that I did was Ireland's Got Talent because they loved Louis Walsh and Jason Byrne. Other than that, they're not interested.
"With my books, I force them to read them and then take pictures of them with the books and go, 'aw, that's so nice'. Let's be honest, they're not fans of mine."
