Travelodge has announced that it will recruit hundreds of housekeeping staff across the budget hotel chain. The job opportunities are said to be ideal for “mums and dads to work around the school run”.
Around 230 housekeeping job opportunities are now being offered within Travelodge hotels across the UK, both part-time and full-time. As part of a dedicated Parent’s Programme Travelodge also offers careers advice for parents looking to return to work, as well as flexible hours to suit family life.
Hannah Thompson, Travelodge’s chief people officer, said: “We are currently looking to fill 230 roles within our housekeeping teams, who are the heroes of our business. With a comprehensive training and development programme in place for all new starters, our Parents’ Programme makes it easier for mums and dads to work around the school run and climb the career ladder whilst raising their family.”
Some of the hundreds of jobs currently being advertised include part-time and full-time housekeeping team members and housekeeping supervisors. Travelodge has previously encouraged parents to apply for flexible work within its hotels, with the hotel’s website stating that over half of its workforce have children.
The Travelodge website states: “Working in housekeeping means that your hours can fit around the kids and allow you to still do the school run. Plus, our great benefits and hotel discounts mean you can treat the kids as well as yourself.”
The chain boasts over 590 hotels in the UK, Ireland and Spain. Employees of the hotel chain get “50% discount on rooms plus food and drink” as well as a "friends and family discount" and “discounts off many high street retailers”. Job vacancies available at Travelodge can be found on the hotel’s careers website.
