ScotRail have been forced to cancel over 95 per cent of their services as Network Rail are holding a major strike, causing the biggest disruption to railway services in decades.
This comes as ScotRail and Aslef were in discussions over a five per cent pay rise to drivers, after a reduced timetable was enforced.
Although ScotRail are not taking part, the industrial action is set to take place in June and July and involve Network Rail staff in Scotland who occupy 'safety critical' roles such as signallers - therefore having a knock-on-effect to ScotRail services.

This means that the majority of rail services in Scotland will not be able to run and only a handful will be able to connect Glasgow and Edinburgh.
The strike by RMT members of Network Rail will be on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday next week - June 21, 23 and 25.
The services running between Glasgow and Edinburgh are as followed;
- Edinburgh - Glasgow via Falkirk High: two trains per hour
- Edinburgh - Glasgow via Shotts: one train per hour
According to the revised timetable will a train every half hour from Glasgow Queen Street to Edinburgh from 7.30am to 5.30pm, however they warn customers to expect disruption.
ScotRail have yet to release the updated timetable on the Journey Planner and have told customers they will do so by Sunday June 19.
