Local elections results for Torfaen 2022: Labour hold council but Conservative support collapses


The votes in the local elections in Torfaen have been counted and Labour have retained control of the council. It is another area of Wales where the Conservatives had a tough night.

The Conservatives have lost all four of their councillors with Labour holding 75% of the council seats. One ward, New Inn, previously had three councillors all of whom were Conservative. Labour took all those seats.

  • Labour: 30 (+2)
  • Independent: 10 (+2)
  • Conservatives: 0 (-4)
