Liquid Death, a sustainable water company, is known for its edgy approach to marketing and branding. They're now making a comeback and dropping their third album, Greatest Hates Vol. 3.
The album features some big names such as Frank Iero (My Chemical Romance) and Mark McGrath (Sugar Ray). However, probably the most shocking collaboration on the album is with professional skateboarder Tony Hawk.
He said: "It wasn’t until I lent my vocals to 'Worst Name For A Water Company' that I realised my true potential as a singer. I am now ready to boldly step into my next career thanks to the foresight of Liquid Death. Rick Rubin better be ready."
Liquid Death's Greatest Hates album collection is lyrically comprised of real hate comments that the brand has received on social media. Trolls love to tease the brand for its out-of-the-box approach to water which is packaged in tall cans meant to resemble beer cans.
My Chemical Romance's Frank Iero told The Mirror: "I had a blast working on this song for Liquid Death. Not only do they make a great product that I really enjoy, but I think they’re super smart and hyper creative about the way they market themselves."
Musically, fans can expect something new. Deterring away from their past punk and metal sound, this album is, instead, full of 80's dance-pop anthems.
Iero told The Mirror: "I got to play some Nile Rodgers inspired guitars on it and while drinking some delicious tea. Plus the song is total ear worm."
Alongside the new album, Liquid Death will debuted a music video. Their single, "F**k Whoever Started This,' marks the first time that the brand has released a video. The entire album is available now on streaming platforms.
Liquid Death and Travis Barker also teamed up for something special
Following their brand image of punk, emo, and metal, Liquid Death partnered with Blink-182's Travis Barker.
Barker has collaborated with plenty of artists in the past including Avril Lavigne and Machine Gun Kelly. This time, though, it wasn't his musical talents that he lent. Instead, Barker and Liquid Death released an Enema of the State Collectible Kit, named after a Blink-182 album.
Per the Liquid Death website, the kit is "a limited edition collectible adult art piece." Along with the product launch announcement came with a photo shooting featuring the drummer nude.
