In the pantheon of NFL quarterbacks, both Tom Brady and Ben Roethlisberger belong in the conversation as two of the best to ever do it. They have squared off multiple times over the years and are always done their best to top the other.
On Thursday, Roethlisberger announced his retirement from the Pittsburgh Steelers and the league, only to have Brady announce his retirement just two days later. will go into the Pro Football Hall of Fame on the first ballot in 2027 in the first year they are eligible.
But given the way Brady has dominated the head-to-head with Roethlisberger, it’s hard to not get a little salty that he announced his retirement so close to Big Ben’s. Roethlisberger is 3-9 going head to head against Brady and this whole thing feels like one more short for Brady to upstage Roethlisberger one last time. Until the Hall of Fame ceremony, at least.
Tom Brady is retiring from football after 22 extraordinary seasons, multiple sources tell @AdamSchefter and me. More coming on https://t.co/b1HxijCoJE. pic.twitter.com/lgwoH4dATL
