South Lanarkshire residents have until next Tuesday to provide feedback on the council’s climate change strategy.
The consultation, which closes next week, is seeking public feedback on how the council can draft its 2022-2027 Sustainable Development and Climate Change Strategy.
The current strategy, which covered April 2017 to March 2022 is reaching its end, following a range of public engagement sessions and focus groups, a new strategy has been drafted on what has been achieved so far. Views on the new strategy are being welcomed.
The consultative draft sets out the authority’s overall strategic approach to sustainable development and it addresses the challenges of climate change.
It also outlines the changes in sustainable development and climate change policy as well as including the proposed vision, themes and priorities for the next five years, these ideas are based on feedback from previous public engagement.
The consultative draft sets out a range of questions based on the council’s approach, the consultation is available here as well as the council’s Environmental Assessment Report which also welcomes public views.
