An enormous nightclub in the centre of Bolton is going under the hammer and could be sold for as little as £7,500.
The former Loco club on Bridge Street was opened in 2013 after a £500,000 investment but has now been empty for some time.
It is set to be sold through an online auction on Tuesday, April 21, and has been tagged with a surprisingly low guide price.
The club spans a 10,000 sq ft floor space over two floors, which made it Bolton’s largest club when it opened. Now, the auctioneers behind the sale hope it can be brought back to life.
“This is a handsome period property with enormous potential for alternative uses, subject to any new owner gaining the relevant planning consent,” said Paul Thompson, managing director of Pugh auctioneers.
“This is a great redevelopment opportunity and we hope that a strategic investor will give a new future to this well-known Bolton building.”
The site used to be home to another nightclub, New York New York, which opened in 2003 and was modelled after American superclub Studio 54.
