It is without a doubt the Beatles are one of the UK's favourite musical acts of all time.
However, a more difficult answer to pin down is which member of the Fab Four is best loved in the country. Thankfully, a survey carried out by YouGov a couple of years ago reveals this.
The survey found that the Beatle fewest people class as their favourite is Ringo Starr, with 7% of those asked choosing the drummer as their favourite rocker. Next was George Harrison at a considerably higher 21%.

There really isn't much to separate the two 'biggest' Beatles with John Lennon receiving 31% of votes, just edging out Paul McCartney who received 30%. Lennon was considerably more popular with men; 38% of male fans picked him as their best Beatle, compared to 24% of female fans.

The survey also found that almost half of all Brits (48%) would class themselves as fans of the Liverpudlian rockers. This did depend greatly on the age of those asked however, with those aged 65 and over the most likely to love the band (66%), and those aged 18-24 the least likely (26%).
The country's favourite Beatles album is surprisingly not the highly acclaimed White Album, the survey found. Instead the top spot goes to Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, which is favoured by a quarter (25%) of fans. A Hard Day’s Night takes second place at 10%.
