The Omicron symptoms to look out for which suggest you have covid despite being jabbed

There are a few early signs of Omicron to look out for which could suggest you have coronavirus, even if you're fully vaccinated, according to new data.

Research from Norway has identified how the dominant variant of covid affects people despite having been jabbed. The study interviewed 111 people at a party out of 117 on November 26 last year. At the party, there was an Omicron outbreak and 89% of the participants had received two coronavirus jabs.

Out of the people who were interviewed, 66 of them had confirmed cases of covid-19 with there being 15 potential cases. The research, which was published in the infectious disease and epidemiology journal Eurosurveillance, revealed there were eight main symptoms that fully-vaccinated partygoers experienced.

These symptoms included a runny nose, sore throat, fatigue, muscle pain, cough, headache, sneezing and pain. It showed that the most common sign out of those vaccinated was fatigue, coughing and a runny nose. It also showed that sneezing and having a fever were the least reported, according to The Mirror. Public health experts also state that nausea is also a sign of having the Omicron variant

Despite vaccinations protecting people against the most serious risks of coronavirus, it's still possible to contract the virus even if you've had both vaccinations and a booster. It can also be difficult to distinguish Covid from a common cold as the vaccination can make symptoms milder.

According to Professor Tim Spector, from the ZOE Symptom Study App, approximately 50% of "new colds currently are, in fact, Covid".

Fatigue and dizziness/fainting are the main symptoms which could signal an early warning of Omicron. Dr Angelique Coetzee, a private practitioner and chair of the South Africa Medical Association, spoke on Good Morning Britain about Omicron symptoms.

They said that when the variant first emerged in South Africa, fatigue was one of the main symptoms. A poll by Web MD revealed that 40% of women struggled with fatigue as a result of Covid in comparison to a third of men.

The correlation between fainting spells and Omicron was identified by a new report from Germany; the German newspaper Arztezeitung said doctors could see a "clear connection" between the infection and fainting spells.
