We've scoured the most popular supermarkets in the UK from Tesco, Aldi, Asda, Sainsbury's and more to give you the cheapest option for your weekly shop.
Tesco
As one of the most popular supermarkets in the country, Tesco, who operate over 4000 stores across the UK, were the first supermarket in the UK to fulfil over a million deliveries in one week in April 2020. So we scoured their website in search of how much it would cost to get get a weekly delivery on average.
They offer three delivery options; Woosh delivery, which promises groceries within an hour of ordering and sets customers back £5, home delivery which ranges between £2 and £7 depending on the day and the time, and the monthly saver package costing £7.99.

Costing £7.99 a month for deliveries over £40, delivery saver users are entitled get groceries delivered one a day for the entire month. If shoppers were to get one shop a week for four weeks, they would make a saving of £10.01 a month.
Sainsbury's
Although Sainsbury's website promises delivery slots from just £1 online, when you actually browse the website at the delivery slot options, the lowest price available is £4, and the highest price goes up to £6.50. Having said this, the majority of the slots do seem to be around the £4 mark.

Asda
Branded as one of the more affordable supermarkets in the country, Asda delivery charges stands up to its reputation. With slots ranging from just £2.50 to £4.50, the average cost comes out at considerably lower than some of the other popular supermarkets.

Much like Tesco, Asda offer a monthly delivery subscription, but at the lower price of £6 a week. Although the average cost for getting a pay-as-you-shop delivery slot on your weekly shop is lower than other supermarkets at £14 for the month, the delivery pass would save shoppers a further £8 a month, and Asda estimates that the pass could save shoppers around £128 a year.
Morrisons
The price range for pay-as-you-shop delivery slots at Morrisons is between £2 and £5.50, however Morrisons has a couple of varying delivery pass options for shoppers to save money. Shoppers have the choice of buying a yearly pass, a bi-annual pass or monthly pass, and they can also limit their options for a cheaper price.

Delivery pass from Monday to Sunday - £65 for the year, £40 for six months or £8 for one month.

If shoppers were to buy the full annual delivery pass for the year at £65, that would work out at just £5.40 a month, which is by far the best value we have seen for delivery charges at a supermarket.

Ocado, who also stock lots of Marks and Spencer's items, promise that 'whatever your schedule, there's a delivery slot just for you'. The price range for delivery slots range between £2.99 and £6.99, but they do offer free delivery on some shops over £75, as well as free delivery on your first shop.

If you want to purchase your groceries online at Aldi, you can still do that, you just have to choose the click and collect option and pick your shop up from your local store.
Iceland
Iceland delivery services require customers to spend a minimum of £35 to make an order for delivery online, but when they do it is absolutely free to deliver and shoppers can even get their groceries the very next day. Same day delivery is also offered, subject to availability, however this costs more.

It offers customers a years worth of home delivery for £65, which works out at just £5.40 per month. A close second is Asda at £6 per month.
If you only need a one off delivery, then the cheapest average pay-as-you-shop price was £3 per delivery slot at Waitrose.
