It's time to check those fridges, freezers and cupboards again after a number of safety warnings were issued about food from supermarkets.
Tesco, Aldi, Lidl and others have recalled a number of items in recent weeks, with customers urged not to eat them but instead return them to store for a full refund. You do not need to have your receipt to get your money back.
When a product is recalled, for any reason, the Food Safety Agency (FSA) shares details on what you should do if you have bought the item, as well as detailed information on why the product is being pulled from shelves.

A number of products have been recalled in recent weeks, with some having used by dates as far as January 2024. With that in mind, it could be worth checking your kitchen cupboards, fridge and freezer to see if you have any of the items.
Due to a large-scale salmonella scare, many of the major supermarkets, and some restaurants, have pulled chicken products. The list of products in full can be found below.

Tesco said: "We’ve been made aware that Strauss Israel is recalling all date codes of their Elite strawberry-filled chocolate 100g and Elite strawberry-filled chocolate 45g, as they may contain salmonella."

A number of Kinder items have also been recalled from all retailers, after Ferrero extended its precautionary recall of a selection of products manufactured at the Arlon factory in Belgium, which might be contaminated with Salmonella.
Investigations have found that some products, intended for the European market only and which have already been recalled by Ferrero in Europe, have been imported into the UK by UK importers not linked to Ferrero.
A spokesperson said: "Ferrero is recalling the above products. Point of sale notices will be displayed in retail stores that are selling these products. These notices explain to customers why the products are being recalled and tell them what to do if they have bought the products."

Lidl GB is recalling Starovice Czech Lager 5.0% because it contains sulphur dioxide, which is not mentioned on the label. This means the product is a possible health risk for anyone with a sensitivity to sulphur dioxide and/or sulphites.

Company AG Barr who make soft drink Irn Bru are recalling one of their products on a "precautionary basis" because there have been a small number of reports that the bottle caps "pop off unexpectedly". AG Barr said: "There is a risk that the bottle caps may pop off unexpectedly which may cause injury."

Iceland is recalling its Takeaway Chicken Bhuna because it contains milk that is not declared on the label. As a result of a packaging error, some packs may contain Iceland Takeaway Creamy Butter Chicken.
This means the product is a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy or intolerance to milk or milk constituents. Affected packs will have a best before date of January 26, 2024.
