The August bank holiday has arrived but the UK's supermarket giants will still be in operation for those who suddenly realise that they need something from the shop. The last public holiday was in June when the country celebrated the Queen's Platinum Jubilee with a long weekend.
The August bank holiday usually falls on the last Monday of August in the UK, apart from in Scotland where it takes place on the first Monday of the month. Major supermarkets such as Tesco, Asda, Sainsbury's, Morrisons, Aldi and Lidl will be open as normal, the Mirror reports.
But people are being told the check opening times before they head out as many supermarkets are operating on reduced hours for the bank holiday. Below are the full August bank holiday opening times for the supermarket giants.
