The terrifying moment a giant killer shark stalked a defenceless diver was caught on camera.
Josh Munoz was diving in Honolulu, Hawaii, with a friend, near to where a 51-year-old woman was attacked by a shark and left in hospital only this week.
The 28-year-old had been taking a number of breathtaking photos when out of nowhere, some Tiger Sharks began stalking them.
The giant predators swam closer to investigate, The Daily Star reported.
The shark checked out both Josh and his friend Sava, who in one of the photos could be seen reaching out to touch the killer beast.
Josh said: "My friends and I were diving in Hawaii and had a few tiger sharks that came close to check us out.
"The water was nice and clear and just as the shark approved my friend, Sava, the clouds parted and it lit up the underwater light just perfectly.
"After the shark passed Sava, she came close to me for a slight redirect and then back down into the blue."
Tiger sharks are such fearsome predators that they will eat nearly anything they can get their jaws on including other sharks, birds, turtles, and dolphins.
Along with Great White Sharks and Bull Sharks they are considered amongst the more aggressive of their kind.
According to azanimals, they have been responsible for 36 human fatalities to date.
This puts it second in terms of fatalities, behind Great Whites.
Tiger Sharks can grow over 16ft long and tend to weigh around 1,400 pounds (635kg).
“Having a person in the frame really gives you a perspective of the size of the animal,” said Josh.
“I also want to educate and show others that sharks aren’t scary monsters.
“I love diving with sharks. It’s a very calm yet focused environment when you share space with these animals.
“It’s important to be respectful of these animals.”
Despite being apex predators the tiger sharks aren’t completely safe and are known to sometimes be eaten by large groups of killer whales.
They are also a near threatened species due to finning and fishing by humans.
