A table quiz is set to take place in Castleknock next week to raise funds for victims of the devastating Turkey and Syria earthquakes.
On 6 February, a powerful quake of 7.8 magnitude on the Richter scale hit southern Turkey and northern Syria, which was then followed by a second 7.5 quake in Syria. It caused over 50,000 deaths in Turkey and thousands of people were injured and lost their homes.
Next Friday April 28, the Castleknock and District Lion's Club is hosting a table quiz with some truly fantastic prizes up for grabs for all the table quiz whizzes out there. According to the organisers, the quiz starts at 8pm on Friday 28 April and it's €60 for a table for four people.

The organisers said: "Please join us on the 28th April in aid of Turkey & Syria Earthquake victims. The first place prize is €200 and second prize is €100, and the third place prize is a surprise."
Speaking to Dublin Live, one of the organisers Annette from the Castleknock and District Lion's Club said that the people of Turkey and Syria urgently need help. "All the proceeds from the table quiz are going to the victims of the earthquakes in Syria and Turkey, and we have lots of sponsors from local businesses.
"They still need funding to help them recover after the earthquakes, they really need the help. We can't imagine what it's like to experience and earthquake and every little bit helps them, and we have some great prizes on offer for our winners."
The table quiz will take place at 8pm on Friday, 28 April at the Castleknock Tennis Club Old Navan Road in Castleknock. People can still book tickets by emailing castleknocklions@gmail.com or by calling Brian on 086 6089629 or Annette on 087 3211234.
