Swedish electric car brand Polestar has opened its first Midlands outlet at Touchwood shopping centre in Solihull.
The electric automotive manufacturer has taken 5,100 sq ft of space on a new ten-year lease to showcase its technology and immersive in-store experience.
This letting follows the recent opening by luxury watchmaker Tag Heuer which is trading from a 1,620 sq ft store within the centre's Crescent Arcade.
The deal with Polestar is part of a wider diversification of the retail offer at the town centre site following the buyout last year by US property investor The Ardent Companies and the appointment of Sovereign Centros as asset manager to drive improvements there.
Earlier this month, Touchwood was also named business of the year at the Greater Birmingham Chamber of Commerce Awards.
Andrew Hilston, managing director of Ardent, said: "We are delighted to welcome Polestar to Touchwood.
"It is an innovative industry leader and will bring an entirely new offering to our tenant lineup, in tandem with Tag Heuer.
"The next few months are an exciting time for Touchwood as it prepares to play a leading role in the council's ambitious growth plans, especially with the 2022 Commonwealth Games just round the corner, during which Solihull will host over half of the events."
