Leeds United’s battle to beat the drop has been backed to go all the way to the wire in FiveThirtyEight’s latest Premier League predictions. The website uses statistical analysis to give forecasts and predictions on a range of different sporting events - on this occasion the final Premier League table.
Leeds have picked up seven points from their last nine available and have been backed to use that recent run of form to just about preserve their top-flight status. Leeds are predicted to finish on a total of 36 points, three clear of 18th place Burnley, who have been backed to go down alongside Watford and Norwich City.
Jesse Marsch's side have a 23% chance of relegation in comparison to Burnley's 53%, which shows just how important the run of two wins and a draw in the last three matches has been, as only as recent as last month, Leeds were more likely to go down than the Clarets according to FiveThirtyEight. Everton are the team most at risk of dropping into the bottom three, as they have been predicted to finish 17th, two points above the bottom three.

There is now very little chance Brentford or Newcastle United will go down with the former now standing less than a 1% chance of relegation after their incredible 4-1 win at Chelsea. The Magpies, meanwhile, now have just a 5% chance of going down despite their recent run of three consecutive defeats.
Elsewhere in the Premier League, Manchester City are expected to retain their Premier League crown ahead of Liverpool by just three points. Chelsea and Arsenal make up the remainder of the top four, with the Gunners predicted to edge their North London rivals Tottenham Hotspur in the race for a Champions League spot.
