Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League offers immersive DC storytelling

Suicide Squad Kill the Justice League

Today, I want to shed some light on Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, a game that holds immense significance for WB and Rocksteady. This game aims to merge DC storytelling with live service loot shooting, and although I'll provide a full review later, right now I want to share the knowledge I gained from 24 hours of Early Access gameplay. Here are ten things I wish I knew when I started Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League:

1. Harley Quinn's swinging mechanics can be tricky. While she is the iconic character most players gravitate towards, her bat-grapple-based traversal has a steep learning curve. Trying to swing continuously without refreshing via the grapple point mechanic won't yield favorable results. Remember to utilize Batman's grapple point strategy from the Arkham games for a smoother experience.

2. Deadshot's jetpack usage requires a specific approach. The timing of when you use the big boost is crucial. Make sure to activate it at the beginning of acceleration, not at the end. Additionally, when the game suggests you can 'kickstart,' ensure you do it just before the fuel is depleted to regain your entire fuel store. An early skill upgrade can also help extend Deadshot's jet fuel duration.

3. Don't let the presence of irrelevant enemies distract you. In objective-based missions, such as destroying crystals or rescuing civilians on rooftops, you don't need to eliminate all enemies in the area. Focusing on killing the little guys and swiftly completing objectives is key. For more kill-based objectives, prioritize clearing out distractions like snipers and helicopters, especially when time is of the essence.

4. The loot system might confuse you initially. You'll start receiving legendary gear early on, which may seem odd since it remains relevant throughout the entire campaign. However, loot isn't crucial for the story mode. It serves more as an introduction to the concept, with the endgame unveiling the true importance of gear sets and Notorious weapons.

5. Take advantage of the loadout feature. Suicide Squad offers loadouts that allow you to save both your gear and cosmetic appearance. While it may not seem vital early on, it becomes essential later when you want to create multiple character builds.

6. Explore the Guardian Rank system. Once your character reaches the max level of 30, each subsequent level unlocks a point in the Squad leveling system. This system provides various benefits applicable to all squad members. Each post-30 level contributes to enhancing your characters as a collective unit.

7. Earn some cosmetics by completing Riddler traversal challenges. Although the game will likely rely heavily on microtransactions for future cosmetic content, there are a few cosmetic looks you can acquire by completing traversal challenges and earning at least 2/3 stars. Utilizing Deadshot's precision flying abilities can make these challenges easier.

8. Sidequests can wait until the endgame. During the story mode, you don't necessarily need to complete all side quests unless they are essential. These quests primarily unlock vendors and vendor upgrades, which prove more significant in the endgame. While there's no harm in doing side quests early on, they are not a necessity for the main campaign.

9. Consider your loadout in boss fights. Boss fights in Suicide Squad often require ranged weapons rather than close-range options. Due to the bosses' rapid movements, weapons like shotguns or SMGs prove ineffective. Opt for snipers, ARs, or heavy weapons to maximize your chances of success. Close-quarters weapons and grenades won't be of much use in these encounters.

10. Get ready for the endgame loop. After defeating the final boss, the real endgame begins. The loop involves replaying the Elseworlds missions on increasing difficulties while fine-tuning your character's build. Whether this repetitive loop is enjoyable or not is subjective, but that's what the endgame offers.

These are ten crucial aspects of Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League that I believe players should be aware of, especially those just starting their journey. Stay tuned for more insights and discussions.
