Two teenage boys have been hospitalised in Perth after a suspected gas leak at a high school in the northern suburbs.

Emergency services were called to Ellenbrook Secondary College about 12.40pm on Thursday following reports of gas in a school building, St John Ambulance said.

Paramedics helped 15 students and teachers at the scene, with two boys transported to St John of God Midland Public Hospital for observation.

Fire crews and police remain at the school and investigations continue.

It is not known what type of gas was detected.
