Staff at a Tesco Extra store have worked in "freezing conditions" after the heating broke.
Staff at the Tesco Extra on Park Road, Toxteth have worked in "freezing" conditions after the store's heating stopped working due to a maintenance issue. Temperatures have dropped to around -4C during parts of the store's working day.
The ECHO was made aware of the issue at the Park Road store by several people. One source told the ECHO : "It's freezing. I spoke to a member of staff and it's been like it since Monday."

A second person said: "The pharmacy staff in my local Tesco have no heating since Monday. It's been -4C at most up here all week. You're risking them making mistakes from being so cold they can't think.
"All the staff were wearing their coats and clearly it was a proper struggle for them. They're such a lovely team and are always so helpful. No one should be working without heating in this weather."
A spokesperson for Tesco confirmed to the ECHO the heating at the store had stopped working for a "short period" due to a maintenance issue. The ECHO understands maintenance teams, who were awaiting a replacement part, expect the issue to be fixed today, Friday, December 16.
The spokesperson added staff had been given additional breaks while working in the store due to the issue.
