Social welfare recipients in Ireland are being reminded that there will be some date changes for their payments due to the upcoming St Patrick's Day, with some to receive their payments early in the week or later.
This year, the national holiday falls on a Friday and will mean that banks and post offices nationwide will be closed for the duration of celebrations. All post offices and banks will reopen as normal on Monday, 20 March.
Welfare payments that fall on Friday 17 Marcg will be paid the day before, on Thursday 16 March. For part time or casual jobseekers, payments due to be paid on 17 March should be paid on Tuesday 21 March. Here are the full list of payment day changes and what social welfare payments are due to be paid below so that you don't get caught out this week.

Weekly Pension
The weekly pension is paid every week to those aged over 66 and who no longer work. If your pension payment is due to be paid at a post office on Friday 17 March, it is likely that you will get your payment a day early on Thursday 16 March.
All post offices will be closed on Friday 17 March and will then reopen as normal on Monday, 20 March.
Jobseekers' Allowance
Jobseeker's Allowance is a weekly payment given to people who are unemployed. To get this payment you must be aged 18 or over and under 66.
This week, Jobseeker's Allowance is due to be paid on Tuesday, 14 March. It is not expected to see any change due to St Patrick's Day.
Part-time Jobseekers/Job Incentive Scheme
Due to St Patrick's Day falling on Friday, all Part-Time jobseekers will have to submit their work pattern for week ending 14/15 March by 4pm on Thursday 16 March. This payment will then be paid out to recipients on Tuesday, 21 March.
It can be collected in post offices or intreo centres on this day.
Carer's Allowance
Carer's Allowance is a weekly social welfare payment to people who are caring for a person who needs support because of their age, disability or illness. It is usually paid on a a Thursday each week.
It is expected that this payment will be paid on Thursday 16 March as normal into post offices and intreo centres.
Meanwhile, April marks the final payments of the Fuel Allowance this season. The Fuel Allowance runs from September to April, providing 28 weekly payments of €33.
The final payment date is April 10, and the payment is expected to resume at the end of September.
