Sherrie Hewson has hinted she could one day return to the cobbles of Coronation Street.
The actress, 71, starred as the lovable Maureen Holdsworth on the long-running soap. However, she's not appeared on the ITV show since 2006 when her character departed.
And now she has claimed she is "waiting for that phone call" from the show's bosses and would be willing to discuss a return.
Speaking to the Daily Star she confessed her character isn't dead, so she could reappear at some point.
She said: "I am waiting for that phone call. It would depend on what they’d do with my character. I don’t know what they’d do with Maureen now.
"I do still have some connections because she married Kevin’s dad Bill Webster.
"So there’s a storyline they could do."
Sherrie, who has also been a panellist on Loose Women, first appeared on Corrie between 1993 and 1997.
Almost a decade later she made a brief return and admits she is still a huge fan of the show, insisting it will "always be" a huge part of British TV.
She is fully aware that any return might not be the same as her original time on the show, saying "times change".
"They have to reflect that," she continued. "It has to be about what’s happening now in the world."
Sherrie is currently starring alongside Les Dennis on the UK tour of Fat Friends The Musical.

But she has yet to seek the help she desperately needs to help her cope, and next week things take a worrying turn.
Asha makes a confession that could lead to an exit from the ITV soap for the character in the near future.
She reveals the news that she is pondering completing an application for Glasgow University in Scotland, meaning she won't be in Weatherfield for much longer.
