Shawhead Primary children have received certificates after achieving the gold award for the RSPB Wild Challenge.
RSPB Mersehead’s community engagement officer George Hemstock visited the school and was very impressed with all the environmental work the children have been doing.
They gave George a tour of the school grounds and showed him photographs of other projects they have completed.
Every child in the school received a gold award certificate and the school not only got a certificate from RSPB but also a certificate from David Attenborough for taking part in Schools for Nature.
The Wild Challenge allows pupils to apply curriculum knowledge and develop their resilience through outdoor learning.
The are 24 activities available, each helping the children connect with and learn about nature.
