Ten individuals in Serbia are currently facing charges for the theft of up to 43,000 state decorations of honor from a government building, as announced by prosecutors on Friday. The suspects allegedly collaborated to execute what has been described as a 'grave theft of state property' from the awards office situated in a Communist-era administration headquarters in a new section of Belgrade, according to a statement released by the public prosecutor's office.
The extensive building houses numerous offices, including those of the Interior Ministry, and is frequently utilized as a location for meetings during the visits of foreign state officials. The prosecutors have confirmed that eight individuals have been apprehended, while two others are still at large. Further details regarding the case have not been disclosed at this time.
