Lionel Charbonnier has paid tribute to "very endearing" Sean Connery after the legendary actor passed away at 90.
It was announced on Saturday that the James Bond icon had died after an illness, with tributes paid from across the world.
Sir Connery was a big football fan and regularly visited Ibrox to watch Rangers.
And 007 regularly found his way behind the scenes to meet the players, who have fond memories of the actor.
Charbonnier told RMC Sport : "We saw him quite often, he was very close to David Murray, our president.
"(The first time he came in) I said to myself: 'how does it get better than that? God?'.
"He was very endearing. He was very self-effacing, very reserved, he would almost apologise for being there.
"He didn't come to do a one-man show, he spoke with his eyes rather than his voice. He was a very striking man.
"The door was always wide open. He was part of the 'team'. He would never have allowed himself to enter the locker room alone. He was a very respectful person, very humble. You could look for comfort in those eyes.
"He was a giant."
Legend has it that David Murray wasn't afraid to use his famous friend as a recruiting tool.
Former Romanian striker Florin Raducioiu famously recounted the Rangers chairman using the legendary actor as an incentive to come to Ibrox.
And Rino Gattuso recalled being told the actor was desperate for him to stay in Scotland, with the Italian replying: "Tell Sean Connery to mind his own f***ing business".
However, Charbonnier isn't sure how much Connery got involved.
He insisted: "No, I don't think so. I don't know but certainly not openly in any case.
"We didn't talk about it between us.
"But no doubt he had a huge influence on Mr Murray."
