ScotRail worker transforms Bellshill station ticket office into festive winter wonderland

A ScotRail worker has transformed a tier 4 train station into a winter wonderland.

Worker Neil Gaittens refused to let a lack of customers stop him going above and beyond to bring some Christmas cheer to the Bellshill ticket office.

Staff desperately wanted to bring 'some normality to 'cheer customers up' who still use the station for their commutes.

He showed off a tree, a huge Santa statue, fairy lights and Christmas projector to bring 'extra-early' festive cheer.

He also hung a massive father Christmas tapestry behind his desk and wrapped the protective glass in front of him in tinsel.

Neil said: "It is a joint effort from me and Ann both station staff trying to bring some normality and cheer our customers up."

Scotrail said: "How amazing does this look?

"Neil at Bellshill station has done a fantastic job bringing some extra-early Christmas cheer to the ticket office."

One person said: "Thank you from your commuters, brings cheer to a dreary morning commute."

A second person said: "Neil you always make the stain festive and even with the dodgy ties and fab waistcoats."

A third person said: "That looks great.

"Will fairly cheer the passengers up. Well done."
