Bad Bunny's Reveals a Side to Him We've Never Seen Before as He Takes on 'Hot Ones'

En español

Puerto Rican artist Bad Bunny recently appeared on the popular YouTube show Hot Ones, seemingly unaware of the fiery challenge that awaited him. The show features guests eating progressively spicier chicken wings while answering questions.

Bad Bunny, hilariously unprepared for the experience, sat down with host Sean Evans wearing a white shirt (a questionable choice) and a winter hat that covered his ears. His outfit offered no help against the heat.

By the end of the show, with Bad Bunny visibly overwhelmed, he exclaimed, "My face is burning." Yet, surprisingly, his white shirt remained spotless.

Bad Bunny vs. the Wings of Death

From the first bite of the infamous "wings of death," Bad Bunny knew he was in trouble. "I should've spoken with my doctor before doing this shit... It's gonna fuck up my intestines," he said nervously.

"It's a problem because they're so fucking spicy but it's really good... I'm worried about my colon," he added.

After filming 'Hot Ones' in New York City, Bad Bunny was scheduled to fly back to Puerto Rico, a trip he said he now dreaded. "I think I will be in the bathroom the whole trip from here to Puerto Rico" he joked, fearing the aftermath of the spicy wings.

At one point, he experienced a headache and exclaimed, "My teeth hurt, dude." To help him, the crew brought him milk and two plates of vanilla ice cream. "Best idea ever, thank you," he said, eyes lighting up like the children his Good Bunny foundation supports with holiday events, gifts, and summer camps.

Revelations amidst the struggle

Despite the clear pain he was in, Bad Bunny didn't need to subject himself to this challenge. While other guests, like Salma Hayek, have breezed through the wings, his Caribbean palate wasn't equipped for such intense heat. The show's premise of eating increasingly spicy wings proved too much for him, and he couldn't finish.

He was added to the show's "Wall of Those Who Almost Made It," a hall of fame for those who came close but fell short.

Still, Bad Bunny emerged a winner in his own right. Much like his album 'DEBÍ TIRAR MÁS FOTOS,' his appearance on 'Hot Ones' was fueled by his love for Puerto Rico.

The interview was part of a promotional effort for his upcoming 30-concert residency in Puerto Rico in July and August, aimed at boosting the island's economy by inviting fans worldwide to visit his homeland rather than taking the show on tour.

During the interview, he shared some interesting tidbits, such as his struggles at last year's MET Gala, where he "couldn't breathe" because of a corset, and the pain he endured during his WWE matches.

More than the humor of watching him suffer through spicy wings, Bad Bunny's appearance was emotional. Speaking in Spanish on one of the most prominent English-language YouTube shows, he reflected on his legacy:

"Man, that's a question that every time they ask me sounds very profound. And a person, at least for me, I don't look at things that way. I've always said that I've never changed, that I'm still the same kid that dreamed of shining and for the world to know who I am. I'm not looking for any type of tribute or for my legacy to be remembered. My legacy is this, I was always Benito from Puerto Rico, from Vega Baja. And that's how I was able to accomplish things never imagined before."
