Sad corgi leaves royal fans in tears as he joins owner to watch Queen's funeral

It's no secret that the Queen adored corgis, and as her beloved pets Muick and Sandy waited for her coffin to arrive at Windsor Castle, people were moved to tears by how poignant the moment was. Mourners up and down the country have been paying their tributes to the late Queen Elizabeth II by lining the streets where the funeral procession took place, or by watching the ceremony on the television.

One woman posted a video of her beloved corgi as he appeared to pay attention to the Queen's funeral, looking sombre as the event took place. Elle McLean, aka @elevatewithelle_ on TikTok, posted the video of her fur baby looking extremely sad whilst he watched the funeral.

The corgi then rests his head on the arm of the sofa to watch the funeral procession whilst looking very forlorn.

She wrote over the top of the video: "We watched the Queen's funeral at my Nan's and our corgi watched it too."

He looks really sad, as she wrote "his little face" over the moment the television shows the moment the Queen was put in the hearse to be transported to Windsor Castle.

As he turns round, she mentions that it's an honour for the breed to be known as 'the Queen's corgi'.

The gorgeous pooch then rests his head on the sofa whilst giving 'puppy dog eyes' at the camera - Elle strokes her beloved corgi and he still looks sad.

The video then cuts to the corgi sat in front of the television looking happier as the words "Thank you ma'am for your service, dedication and duty to our country" can be seen over the video.

People found the video adorable, with one user writing: "He is so cute, bless him."

"Awww how touching. Made me tear up", another commented.

"Ahh", another wrote, followed by a crying emoji.

"Cuteness overload", added a TikToker.

When Elle found out about the Queen's death on September 8, she posted a TikTok of her telling her corgi where he looks devastated to learn the news.

He looks contemplative as he bows his head and people in the comments ordered Elle to "hug him right now".

Now the Queen has died, Prince Andrew has confirmed that he will be taking care of her corgis Muick and Sandy – two dogs the late monarch received as gifts from her son.

Throughout her 70-year reign, the Queen owned more than 30 corgis.
