RTE viewers were full of praise for Leona Maguire after her appearance on Friday night's Late Late Show.
The Cavan woman was on the long running chat show on Friday night as she spoke about her maiden LPGA Tour win after her rise to the top of the golfing world.
Maguire turned professional back in 2018 and has already made waves in the golfing world, breaking a rookie scoring record at the Solheim Cup.
And Maguire reached the top 20 in the world rankings as she beat Lexi Thompson to the LPGA Drive on Championship two weeks ago.
And Maguire appeared on the show to speak to Ryan Tubridy and said her success: "When I was starting there was no female player on the LPGA Tour and something like this didn't even seem possible and I suppose Dad saw it was possible when maybe some other people didn't and a lot of hard work went into the Solheim Cup in Killeen Castle in 2011 and we were inspired there.
"Bit by bit it seemed more and more possible and we had things like the 20x20 campaign to get more media coverage and more participation.
"For me I wanted it to be more than lip service and that our Ireland athletes can achieve great things at a world stage, it's not just me it's so many athletes. We want Irish fans to be cheering for us and not just cheering for the sake of it and we want them to be entertained and that's what sport is, it's entertainment. It's a lot nicer to be cheering for wins and eagles and birdies than pars."
And speaking of her win, Maguire said: "It's a bit of a blur. You dream about that moment. I've hit thousands and thousands of putts thinking this is to win an LPGA event or to win a playoff or a major.
"I'd built it up so many times in my head that when it actually happened it's a bit surreal, you don't really realise it.
"It probably didn't really sink in until I had the trophy."
And Niall Horan, who runs golf management company Modest, was also set to appear on the show but fell ill.
And viewers were quick to praise Maguire for her appearance, with one user saying: "Great to see Leona Maguire on the show. What she has achieved in such a short space of time as a pro golfer is amazing. She is a credit to her family and her country. What a future she has."
While another said: "Leona Maguire: A class act"
And another added: "Great to see @leonamaguire on @RTELateLateShow a fabulous ambassador for #womenandgolf and a super role model for young girls. What you see you can be.."
