Irish rugby star Andrew Porter earned plaudits from RTE viewers as he sacrificed his trademark head of hair for Daffodil Day.
The 26-year-old also gave a nice touch before the barber took a blade to his head when he dedicated the act to a friend's dad who is currently battling the disease.
He also joked that he immediately felt colder as it was all done and dusted within about a minute.
The end result was rather stark as onlookers - and in particular his girlfriend Elaine - looked fairly stunned afterwards!
Viewers were suitably impressed and took to social media afterwards to praise him for being such a good sport and doing what he could to bring an extra bit of spotlight on the Irish Cancer Society's annual fundraiser.
Dorothy wrote: "Andrew Porter is such a lovely guy #latelate love his new look btw.
"Well done Andrew."
While Mark said: "Andrew Porter a legend on & off the field."
And Liam added: "Well done Andrew Porter, very brave to take the step and shave the head for a worthy cause. Great role model!"
Enda tweeted: "Andrew Porter you are a great young man. I bet your mum is so proud of you."
Lastly, Colm concurred: "Andrew Porter your Mom might have been a great role model for you and your family but you are a great role model for us all. Thank you!"
The scrum specialist wasn't the only high-profile sporting figure to share his tale in relation to losing a loved one to cancer either.
Former Ireland soccer captain and manager Mick McCarthy spoke about losing both of his parents to the disease.
His mum Josephine was only 53 so he paid a particularly poignant tribute to her.
