RTE Dancing With The Stars viewers rage over 'harsh' and 'unfair' scores

RTE Dancing With The Stars' viewers were left 'raging' after the judging panel revealed their scores for contestant Nicholas Roche.

The cyclist who dances with professional Karen Byrne was praised for his improvement. However, his scores remained low.

Nicholas received a five from Brian Redmond, six from Loraine Barry and a six from judge Arthur Julian, bringing his total to 17.

Dancing the waltz, Nicholas wore a dark navy suit while his partner stunned in a light blue flowy gown.

Those watching were impressed with the athlete's performance as he glided around the floor, but the judges raised the same issues as they commented on Nicholas' stiffness.

However, viewer's took to Twitter to disagree with the judges saying Nicholas deserved a higher score.

One wrote: "Harsh scores again for @nicholasroche! I honestly think the judges need to cut him a bit of slack. He's improved a huge amount since week one. He held a brilliant frame throughout the dance, danced in time (even out of hold) and enjoyed himself. You've got my vote Nico!"

Another said: "The judges are too hard on @nicholasroche He has improved so much but his scores have not . He was a bit wobbly going backwards but otherwise great ..deserved more than a 5 or 6 ...bot sure what he has to do".

While a third commented: " #DWTSIrl Nicholas is improving every week but the judge's scores aren't reflecting that. It's so unfair".

Others felt the cyclist's charming persona and 'cuteness' could bring him all the way to the final of the dancing competition.

They said: "I know he's not the best dancer (but in fairness he has improved a lot since the start), but if there were votes for cuteness then Nicholas Roche would get a 9 from me. Right. There I've said it".

"Nicholas is a charming chap, he's not the best but he is really trying and definitely improving. The point of the show is to see improvement. Well done," a second wrote.
