Former MMA fighter and professional wrestler Ronda Rousey has issued a public apology for reposting a conspiracy video related to the tragic 2012 Sandy Hook Elementary School mass shooting. Rousey admitted that sharing the video was a regrettable decision and expressed deep remorse for the hurt it caused.

In her online apology, Rousey acknowledged that reposting the video was a mistake and described it as the single most regrettable decision of her life. She clarified that she did not believe the video but was disturbed by the truth and sought an alternative fiction to cling to.

Rousey promptly removed the post once she realized her error, but she acknowledged that the damage was already done. She revealed that she refrained from addressing the issue publicly out of fear and regretted not apologizing sooner.

Despite drafting multiple apologies, Rousey had hesitated to come forward due to concerns about reopening emotional wounds and being labeled a 'Sandy Hook truther.' She expressed her understanding that she deserved criticism and consequences for her actions.

Rousey emphasized her sincere apology to those affected by the Sandy Hook massacre, expressing deep regret and remorse for the hurt she caused. She urged others to learn from her mistake and avoid falling into the trap of conspiracy theories, emphasizing the negative impact such beliefs can have on individuals and communities.

The Sandy Hook shooting in Newtown, Connecticut, resulted in the tragic loss of 20 first graders and six educators. Following the incident, false claims circulated that the tragedy was a hoax, leading to years of torment and threats against victims' families.

Rousey's apology resurfaced when questions were raised on a social media platform regarding her fundraising campaign for a graphic novel. While a spokesperson for the families affected by the shooting declined to comment on Rousey's apology, the former MMA fighter expressed deep remorse and shame for her actions.

Rousey concluded her statement by warning against the dangers of engaging with conspiracy theories, emphasizing the negative impact on individuals' mental well-being and the harm caused to others. She pledged to continue regretting her actions and learning from her mistake for the rest of her life.
