It is believed the paint is from a house having work done on the road.
Although the council has not put a road closure in place, they are asking pedestrians and motorists to take care and avoid the area whilst it is being cleared up.
A spokesperson from Liverpool City Council said: "Our colleagues are currently dealing with a paint spillage on Inglis Road in Fazakerley.
"Motorists and pedestrians are asked to take care and avoid the area while it is being cleared up. Thank you for your patience."
The spokesperson added the team has already put down granules and are working to get rid of the bulk of the paint before a professional team clears the road in the morning.
