Emergency services have closed a city centre road as firefighters tackle a derelict building fire.
Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service rushed to Bay Horse Lane in Liverpool City Centre at around 10.40pm on Wednesday, April 13, following reports of a fire. Once four fire engines arrived at the scene they found a derelict building well alight.
The fire service closed Bay Horse Lane while a number of firefighters used hose reel jets to fight the ground floor blaze. Three North West Ambulance Service vehicles were also in attendance.

A spokesperson from Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service said it's unclear if anybody is in the building and paramedics were at the scene as a precaution. The fire was extinguished by 11.45pm and emergency services are now ventilating the building and dampening down.
Merseyside Police were not called to the scene.
