If you are making a list of the greatest wide receivers in Pittsburgh Steelers history, there is a consensus top four but the order varies greatly. Two of those names are Hines Ward and Antonio Brown. The comparison between the two goes well beyond the numbers as they couldn’t be more different as players and people.
NFL analyst Rich Eisen made a comparison between the two, slamming Brown in the process on his radio show. Eisen praised Brown’s time with the Steelers but said thanks to how he imploded his career Ward should go into the Pro Football Hall of Fame ahead of Brown.
Twelve seasons he’s played and the first nine in Pittsburgh were Hall of Fame worthy. That’s the stuff that puts you in the Hall of Fame. You do it for the Pittsburgh Steelers as well. Seven 1000-yard seasons in twelve years. His nine years in Pittsburgh are some of the best nine years fresh out of the box of any receiver ever on track to be in the Hall of Fame.
I want to pass the question on to you. Which former Steeler will have the HOF first, Brown or Ward? Or do you think neither guy gets in? Let us know in the comments below.
