What. An. Ending.
The New York Jets somehow won a sloppy, weird and — for them — awful Monday night game in which Aaron Rodgers was injured, perhaps with something that could keep him out for a while.
In overtime, Xavier Gipson returned a Buffalo Bills punt for an amazing walk-off touchdown.
But should it have been allowed?
ESPN’s John Parry — a former NFL referee — noted that the Jets’ Chazz Surratt tripped Christian Kirksey with a “leg whip.” That should have called the return back and negated the touchdown.
But officials didn’t, and here we are. Can you imagine how Jets fans would react if this was called back?
"You've gotta put an asterisk on it because there's a tripping call that was not made. A trip, a leg whip, right near the 23-yard line, No. 55, which would have brought the touchdown back."
