Ranvir Singh gasps and asks 'who are you calling lazy' as ITV Good Morning Britain debate turns heated

Ranvir Singh was left gasping in shock as a debate became heated on Good Morning Britain. The presenter was back at the helm of the ITV news programme alongside Ed Balls as they brought viewers the latest news headlines, debates and celebrity guests.

Among the topics being discussed on the last edition of the show of the week was whether or not women should be wearing makeup during labour after a new TikTok trend showed more women "dolling up" in between contractions. It also came following a report that an estimated 68 per cent of women apply make-up on the same day as giving birth.

Joining Ranvir and Ed on the show was Naomi, who was in favour of women wearing makeup as they give birth, explained that she "enjoys making an effort" with how she looks every day. But Clare argued it's dangerous to "push a narrative" that women "need to be the best version of themselves and wear make-up" when giving birth.

But Naomi hit back: "I'm sorry Clare but I actually find that really offensive," the guest with opposing views hit back with. I think as a woman, it's a woman's prerogative to decide their own birth experience and for me personally, when I went into labour I had a blow dry the day before, I'd had fake tan - I did my hair and make-up because I wanted to feel good!

"It's about feeling good within - I didn't feel good during nine months of my pregnancy and I wanted to feel good when I was bringing my child into the world." But Clare argued her fellow guest "wasn't seeing the bigger picture" and accused her of pushing "a dangerous narrative".

Naomi, however, hit back: "How can it be a dangerous narrative to be the best version of yourself? I did top up my make-up in between contractions - I was completely bored. I was doing my make-up and reading. It's very easy to be a lazy person and to lower your standards."

Naomi and Clare argued their points back and forth on the ITV show (ITV)

And it was the lazy remark that led Ranvir to step in as she could be heard gasping between the two women arguing their points back and forth. She then asked: "Are you calling women lazy? Who are you calling lazy?" to which Namoi replied: "No I'm just saying some people don't want to make an effort."

"Sorry?! You're saying if you don't put makeup on during birth you're lazy?" Ranvir responded. "No not at all!" Naomi said. "I'm saying that in life if you don't want to make an effort then that's your choice."
