UEFA drop Rangers kit clue that suggests blue will do as players set to match fans in Seville stands

The curse of the away kit. It's every fan's worst nightmare.

Nightmares in neon, abberations in amber.

We've all seen it happen and vowed 'never again' when it comes to THAT strip – but is there any greater fear than remembering a cup final for a catastrophe in change colours?

But fear not, Rangers fans: if the official pre-Final photoshoot is anything to go by it looks like your team will be wearing blue for the Europa League Final.

Last week speculation gathered pace that due to Eintracht Frankfurt's black home kit, and their designation as the home side for administrative purposes, the Govan side would be forced to change.

Frankfurt's home match against Chelsea in 2019, for example, saw the London club forced to wear yellow.

And a UEFA spokesman has said: "Eintracht Frankfurt are the home side in the final and they are entitled to wear their first choice strip.

"Of course, this is all-black and we are aware that there could be a clash with Rangers kits.

"We will make an announcement on this in the coming days."

But promotional snaps from the official UEFA photoshoot appear to suggest they've decided blue will do.

Mannequins are positioned wearing Eintracht's black strip and Rangers' traditional home top, separated by the Europa League trophy.

The first-team squad also posed in the home kit in the magazine-style shoot.

Ultras group Union Bears this week called on everyone attending the final to wear 'royal blue' – and from the snaps it appears they'll be matched on the park.
