Rachel Stevens has cancelled her upcoming performance at London's Mighty Hoopla festival this June.
The S Club 7 star, 45, has decided to opt out of her hotly-anticipated gig following the tragic death of her band member, Paul Cattermole, who was tragically found dead on April 6, 2023, at his home in Dorset.
Paul sadly died at the age of 46, just days after S Club 7 revealed their plans for an epic reunion tour.
Following Paul's passing, Rachel appears to be taking the loss of her dear friend very tough, and has decided that it wouldn't be right for her to perform at Mighty Hoopla, which is taking place in Brockwell Park over the June Bank Holiday weekend.
Sharing the news on Twitter today, the official social media account for the festival tweeted: "After the recent tragic passing of S Club’s Paul Cattermole, it is with deep sadness that Rachel Stevens has had to withdraw from performing at this year's Mighty Hoopla."
"We support Rachel and send our love to the entire S Club family, and hope to welcome Rachel back another year. More information coming very soon regarding who will be filling in these spots on the Saturday and Sunday."
Rachel's spot on stage on Sunday has been filled by Loreen - who won this year's Eurovision Song Contest for Sweden.
Following the news of Paul's tragic death, Rachel posted a tribute to her dear friend and band member in a heartbreaking social media post.
Sharing a picture of Paul on Instagram, Rachel wrote: "Thank you so much for all your beautiful messages of love and support The outpouring of love for our Paul has been so incredibly special and has meant so much.
"I hope he knew how loved he was. Such a kind, gentle and sensitive soul with the most incredible energy and such a wild free spirit. He would light up any room.
"We are heartbroken but so grateful for the memories we all shared An absolute shining star who we will love and miss always RIP darling Paul."
A statement issued at the time by his bandmates said that they were 'truly devastated' by his loss.
The statement from the band read: "We are truly devastated by the passing of our brother Paul. There are no words to describe the deep sadness and loss we all feel. We were so lucky to have had him in our lives and are thankful for the amazing memories we have.
"He will be so deeply missed by each and every one of us. We ask that you respect the privacy of his family and of the band at this time."
