Marvin Bartley has ordered his Queens kids to forget last week’s Dunfermline demolition and start a new run.
The Doonhamers welcome Montrose to Palmerston tomorrow still licking their wounds from the Pars’ title-winning performance that severely dented their play-off push.
Bartley said: “The boys have worked incredibly hard to be in this position and we need to go on another run.
“Yes, we lost 5-0 but it’s just three points that are dropped, and we need to learn from it. The boys were on a fantastic run and that’s full credit to them.
“Football is all about runs and we’ve just gone seven games and one defeat or however you want to look at it. We need to start another run. I said to the players at full time on Saturday to pick up the points they have recently has been fantastic.”
Bartley also offered an apology to fans after Saturday’s crushing defeat.
He said: “I don’t get too high with the highs or too low with the lows. I’ll go away and have a look at what happened, have a debrief, we’ll learn from it and move on.
“I want to apologise to the fans. That was a really difficult one to witness.
“It sounds ridiculous but there was some good phases of football in the game.
“We’re a young group and we made mistakes in terms of people not doing their jobs. If you don’t learn, or you’re unable to learn, then the harsh reality is some things need to change.”
