Quantum Computing Stocks Fall. Here's A Look At Upcoming News Events.

Investors watching quantum computing stocks may want to take a breather after Nvidia's GTC conference. But quantum computing news could be coming at events over the next few weeks.

D-Wave Quantum hosts its Qubits 2025 quantum computing user conference in Scottsdale, Ariz., starting March 31. The conference will feature presentations from D-Wave executives, customers and industry thought leaders.

On the stock market today, D-Wave stock fell 4.9% to 8.35 in midday trades. Among other quantum computing stocks, shares in IonQ dipped a fraction to 25.72. Quantum Computing retreated over 5% to near 8. Rigetti Computing fell 3% to 9.51.

Meanwhile, Rigetti and Quantum Computing are among sponsors of Quantum.Tech USA 2025, slated from April 14 to 16. Other sponsors include consultancy McKinsey, Aliro, BlueQubit, Oxford Instruments and Photonic.

Speakers at Quantum.Tech USA 2025 will include representatives from NASA, JPMorgan Chase, AT&T, Deloitte, Rigetti, Oxford Ionics, venture capital firm Morpheus Ventures and many others.

Further, Paris-based quantum startup Alice & Bob will hold an event from April 20 to 25. The Fault-Tolerant Quantum Computing conference will take place at Les Houches School of Physics. Alice & Bob recently raised $104 million.

Taking part in the Alice & Bob event will be quantum experts from Amazon Web Services, part of Amazon.com, QuEra Computing, Riverlane, Alphabet's Google, IonQ and IBM as well as several universities.

Quantum computing stocks have been volatile amid announcements by tech industry giants Alphabet, Microsoft and Amazon. Chipmaker Nvidia's GTC conference also played a role in investor's shifting views on quantum stocks.

Quantum computing works on a subatomic level and uses exotic technologies, like supercold superconductor chips. Further, Quantum computing's ultimate benefit is that it aims to solve problems too complex for today's classical computers.

In 2025, D-Wave stock has dipped 1%. Shares of Rigetti have tumbled 38%, Quantum Computing has dropped 52%, and IonQ has retreated 39%.
