A major public survey on the way forward for Kirkcudbright Galleries draws to a close next week.
And people are being urged to have their say and contribute their ideas to the development plan.
The council-owned venue has been a big hit since its £3million revamp in 2018 and attracts tens of thousands visitors each year.
Kirkcudbright Development Trust chairman Lesley Garbutt is urging everyone to have their say before the February 28 deadline.
She said: “The galleries have been open a wee while now and it’s right that the community is being asked on how they think things are going.
“It’s very important that people get involved in the survey.
“It’s no good not taking part and then moaning about something afterwards.
“Post-Covid we can look back on all that time we had nobody.
“The galleries is such a major draw for the town.”
The council said the nine-question questionnaire would “help us to understand more about what is working well, where there is potential for improvement and how we can use our limited resources to maximise the positive impact of our work over the next five years”.
Key areas of enquiry include the cultural, social and economic role of the galleries within the town and how to broaden its appeal.
A council spokesperson said: “The original business plan for the Kirkcudbright Galleries – then known as Kirkcudbright Art Gallery – was approved by Dumfries and Galloway Council in June 2015, prior to submission of a successful Heritage Lottery Fund, and three years before the opening of the gallery.
“Now that the Galleries has been in operation for a number of years, the council is refreshing the business plan based on a review of the 2016-2022 business plan, and its key objectives and relevant performance data, feedback gathered from stakeholders though a programme of engagement, and information drawn from other relevant sources.
