Prince William and Kate Middleton's friend and his son die in tragic plane crash

A close friend of Prince William and Kate Middleton has sadly passed away following a plane crash.

Pilot Mark Jenkins was flying over Tsavo National Park, in Kenya with his son Peter when their plane came down.

William made a statement announcing the sad news. He said: "Yesterday, I lost a friend, who dedicated his life to protecting wildlife in some of East Africa’s most renowned national parks.

"Mark Jenkins, and his son Peter, were tragically killed when flying over Tsavo National Park while conducting an aerial patrol.
