The team had originally hoped to reopen in March and, after a flurry of customers asking for updates, they've confirmed they will be serving up their delicious vegetarian and vegan dishes once more before the end of the month.

Lotus are currently looking to hire staff and confirmed: "We plan to open on the Wednesday 25th May."

The highly-rated restaurant, run by married couple Eric Chan and Kwan Mui, has scooped awards for its fine Far Eastern cuisine - and was voted Best Chinese Restaurant in Glasgow by Restaurant Guru in 2021.

The Bridge Street eatery was also nominated for the International Dining Awards in 2021.

Reacting to the news of Lotus' return, customers said they 'can't wait', with one person commenting: "Fabulous, I have missed you guys!"
