Police have responded to claims that two men 'acted suspiciously around a child' in Manchester city centre after a clip was shared on social media.
On Saturday morning, officers said the force was 'aware of a report on a social media account' relating to the incident, which is reported to have happened last night (Friday).
In a post on the GMP City Centre Facebook post at 11am, the force said the incident had not been reported to them. Later on Saturday afternoon, GMP said they received a report at 12:50pm.
In a statement they said: "Officers are looking into the incident based on the report.
"It is being treated as an isolated incident and we have had no further reports of this nature. GMP would also like to reassure the public that there will continue to be an increased uniformed and non-uniformed presence in the city centre for the duration of the Christmas markets."
The Manchester Evening News understands the claims were made in a video on TikTok.
