A second person has been charged over a fatal stabbing in north Queensland.

Police charged a 37-year-old Beach Holm man with the murder of a 39-year-old Aurukun man at Railway Estate in Townsville on July 12.

He is also charged with entering a dwelling with intent at night in company, threatening violence and deprivation of liberty.

The 37-year-old is expected to face Townsville Magistrates Court on Wednesday.

A 37-year-old woman has already been charged with the same offences.

Police allege the woman and man entered a property and seriously assaulted the Aurukun victim before leaving in a vehicle.

He suffered critical injuries including a stab wound to his chest and died at the scene.

The woman's case was briefly mentioned in court on Tuesday.

She did not apply for bail and a committal mention is scheduled for October 13.
