Police issue statement as Arno Vale Road closed following collision

Nottinghamshire police has issued a statement following road closures after a collision on the morning of Wednesday, July 5. The incident took place at Gedling Road, near the its junction with Arno Vale Road, in Arnold, and officers were called to the scene at approximately 6.15am.

The two-car collision caused heavy traffic in the area and the 56 bus, which runs from Arnold to Nottingham, diverted its service. Nottinghamshire police said road closures were put in place from Gedling Road to Plains Road and Arno Vale Road to repair damage to traffic lights that were impacted in the collision.

A Nottinghamshire Police spokesperson said: “Officers were called to Gedling Road, Arnold, at around 6.15am today, July 5, following reports of a collision between two cars. Nobody sustained any injuries during the incident, although a set of traffic lights and road signage were damaged at the junction with Arno Vale Road.

“Road closures were put in place from Gedling Road to Plains Road and Arno Vale Road to the junction with Somersby Road, while the damage was repaired. Inquiries are ongoing into this incident, so we’d ask anyone with information to call the police on 101, quoting incident 88 of July 5, 2023.”
